The new EN 17430: Testing hand disinfectants for virus effectiveness on contaminated hands


This publication on EN 17430 appeared in aseptica, issue no. 3 2025. Contents: EN 17430 recently introduced a practical method in Europe for testing the virus-inactivating properties of hand disinfectants on artificially contaminated hands. The non-human pathogenic murine norovirus (MNV) is used as the test virus. The details of this test are described therein, followed by an evaluation of this new method for use in hygienic hand disinfection.
